Unnamed dragon by Reptangle Unnamed dragon by Reptangle
I recently finished this little dragon sculpture. I test painted this first casting in "Sand"color, to see how well the details looked with antique on them. His eyes are blue glass.

We don't have an official name for this dragon yet, but we are getting production molds made to start casting them. He is about 4 1/2 inches tall.

This is a gypsum casting of my original sculpture , produced by Windstone Editions [link]

I have been calling this dragon mold the "Hoarder" because there is room under his body for small items to be stashed. We'll glue some treasures in there.

I can't, but there are artists on the Windstone forum who will customize the Paint-your-own griffins. Here is a link to the topic on the Windstone forum about Paint- your-owns, including threads by people who are taking comissions: [link]

Love the new pose! Looks like he could be a bit older than your Fledgeling Dragons, so Adolesent Dragon maybe?

I love this piece! Everything about, from the choice of colors to the serpentine and curving position of its neck to its large blue eyes. It makes it seem about to come alive. :) Great work.

It looks like an oasis dragon. Since the sand is like a desert and the greens and blues suggests a sort of desert paradise. Just an idea. What you cast with? I think that would be somethingfun to try.

Ha! That is exactly what I call this version of the "sand" color! We think alike.
I am trying to find a name for the dragon sculpture itself, which could be painted in any color.

ooooh. Hahaha, well then, you could call the dragon pose: the anxious sitter, the impacient listener, studious fledgling, eager listener.

I cannot wait for this guy to be avaliable. Since you have moulds started, do you know abouts when you will make them? And since he's almost the same size as the other young dragon (I call this guy the teenager) will he be the same price? I have so many questions about this newbie Lol

Don't know the answers!
I never know when something will be available, because it depends on when the production molds get finished and when the pieces get cast, and when someone has time to paint them -etc.
I also don't know what the price will be becauswe we need to figure this out after they are finished, so we know how much time we got invested in 'em.

No, I am not planning to redo anything other than the hatching dragon! -And only because the first one was impossible to paint quickly.
This new youngish dragon won't replace the "Young Dragon" we already have.

If one of my kids was sitting like that I'd be super impressed with how patient they were being. I'd say name it the 'Patience Dragon'. Not Patient...people are sure to make cracks about how he's in need of a doctor when broken....but Patience might be less prone to that.
