Thalnarra the griffin by Reptangle Thalnarra the griffin by Reptangle
This is "Thalnarra", the griffin priestess. She is a character from the fantasy trilogy "Chaos Knight" by the author Erin Hoffman (published by PYR). Erin gave me permission to paint a likeness of a character from the first book of this series"Sword of Sea and fire".
I airbrushed and hand painted this griffin to match a description and sketch of this character that Erin herself provided.
This sculpture is a gypsum casting of my original sculpture , produced by Windstone Edtions. She is about 91/2 inches tall.
She is a special "Artists Edition" that we are offering on Ebay [link] with a copy of the book signed by the author.
The "Thalnarra" character is copyrighted by Erin Hoffman

Melody, this has to be one of the most beautiful griffins I've ever seen you paint. The transition of the chest banding to the forelegs is to die for! That subtle brown and blue are so well composed with the light and dark base too! You brought this character to life as well as your sculpture beyond most other works.

Thank you for the kind words! I messed up two other griffins first. Those stripes are hard.

That is a gorgeous paint scheme.
The blue really compliments the overall brown content.
I looooove the colors.
I've never read that trilogy >>;

What's the storyline of it? :3
I'm looking for some new novels.
Also, did you have any luck with custom brushes?
I know you asked me about them once.

A young man on a quest in a magical world. I've only read a chapter so far. It has lots of griffins in it!
