Stained glass dragon window by Reptangle Stained glass dragon window by Reptangle
This is a stained glass dragon that I designed. The glass work was done by Bill Taylor. This window is about 3 feet long.

Holy WOW. That is absolutely gorgeous. 8D I love all of the different colored scales, and the beautiful claws, and the marvelous spines along the back and EVERYTHING.

Oh my gosh, now I want about five of these for my room. xD Amazing work!

I love the head, especially that curling forked tongue. The dragon's body also has a nice flow to it.

Oh that looks so awesome , a dragon in actual stained glass form, sure like to see something like that more often. Now I am not sure if you would know if the glass was blown and while hot made flat, and let to cool and colored the old fashioned way or don in a modern technique or not. For sure do think that either way, your design, his glass craftsmanship the finished product looks great. :)

I am pretty sure this is modern glass, but I didn't assemble it myself, so I don't know for sure. I know some of the reds were pretty expensive!
Thank you!

Well that is why I asked in case you did, because the way they made red stained glass in the day was to use gold, and silver depending on elemental structure can be a whole range of colors

Yes! He did mention the red was made with gold.

So it was done in the old fashioned style then, at least somewhat. I would guess then that the yellow was most likely made from chromium, all the useless thing you find from watching Hunting the Elements, and reading ore into the subject.

Okay, then I am envious of YOU! :giggle: Really, it's brilliant work. Stained glass is one of those artisan crafts that I've not yet tried, and it looks like a lot of fun (and marvelously tedious, detailed work).

Very nicely done. Would look wonderful lit up by the morning sun.

Were you the one that had a problem of sun blinding you while you did dishes? This could solve that problem!

Yes that was me! I wouldn't hang this over the sink though, it would get ruined! We are boisterous dish washers.

Ha ha really? That's surprising! I would think they'd need it simplified.. this guy must be REALLY good!

Give him one of your flying cows to turn into stained glass.. :D
