I airbrushed each individual scale of this male Kirin with shading like the scales of a stylized silver koi.
I forgot to count them again.

He is a gypsum reproduction of my original sculpture produced by Windstone editions.
This kirin will eventually be sold either on ebay or out of the "special pieces" section of the Windstone Editions online shop.

I wish they had a 'paint your own' design for this style of Kirin, they only have the one of him rearing up.

I have been planning to do another pyo kirin in a different position, but haven't gotten to it yet! Kirins take a long time to sculpt because each scale needs to be sanded and polished individually .
