Koi Oriental Sun dragon by Reptangle Koi Oriental Sun dragon by Reptangle
I have been painting things like koi lately. This is a koi "Sun Dragon" that was sold on ebay.
He is a gypsum casting of my original sculpture , produced by Windstone Editions.
He holds a real mineral sphere in his mouth and has glass eyes and gold plated pewter horns

These are glass taxidermy eyes. You can buy them from a taxidermy supply . I also noticed they are available on ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/10-PAIR-Dark-…

Sweet jumblah, this one is awesome. This sun dragon houses the red and the blue colors. Almost like a balance between the colors of the moon and the other sun dragons. Really awesome work, here. Even the subtle shading of the blue upon the legs are greatly added. Due to the fact that they help the gold nails on the dragon stand out just a little more than they normally would. They eye color nearly perfectly matches the red paint applied to the figure. Even the accented outlines of gold on some of the scales offers the figure a small sense of royalty.

Fav'd, as you should know. This one sealed the deal. When I get things squared away, I'll definitely be coming to you to purchase one of the dragons. Especially if it is possible to get it custom made, color-wise.

Undoubtedly, you are welcome for that.

Sorry for the other error with the "They eye." That should be a "The eye," instead. My apology.

We make these dragons here, in Oregon USA. I don't think there is a shop that sells them in Japan, but we may of had a dealer there at one time.
The "Koi Oriental Sun dragons" are special items that we sell on ebay or from the "special Items " sections of our online store. The prices are high here because they are one-of-a-kind items.
Here is a link to the whole store, if you would like to see it: [link]
Here is a link to the "special section" where these fancy koi dragons are. Scroll to the bottom. ( many pictured have already been sold) [link]
I am sure you can find LOTS of fantastic dragons in Japan! How wonderful that you are going there!

Is the mineral sodalite? I really love the added touch that it brings to the sculpture. I hope you consider doing more of these with the stone spheres.

I think you are right, but I am not sure. I will ask someone who knows.
We usually put real mineral spheres in the special pieces. The Asagi koi one didn't get a mineral sphere because none of them looked good with those colors!

It really does give them that extra special edge.

Have you thought of putting a pearl in one of their mouths? I don't know how good it would look. Just an idea to go along with the oriental and koi theme.

I wanted to use a faux pearl when I designed this sculpture, but we have been unable to find a 22 mm pearl-like thing.
